About Verbatim

Language is everywhere that we are. Poetry is language framed. Even in the ordinary; a letter from the bank, a text from a friend, a sign in the window, there must be poetry.

Or must there?

This blog aims simply to frame the ordinary words of real life to see if there is poetry in them. Some of it is found poetry; some of it more extracted – where found elements are assembled together. What have you seen in an email, text message, a notice or menu that is poetic?

We take submissions. These are the guidelines (in short arrange whole, real excerpts into lines, word for word, in the most appropriate style). We’d love to see what you come up with.
